Death, Sheriff's Deputy, and Dr. Loomis

A Civilian killed by Michael is not automatically finished with the match. The official multiplayer overview says dead players can continue supporting their friends and can return to the streets as either a Sheriff’s Deputy or Dr. Loomis.

Confirmed sequence

• Michael kills a playable Civilian.
• The dead player can still support teammates.
• The player may re-enter as a Sheriff’s Deputy or Dr. Loomis.
• The returning role can cooperate with surviving Civilians and responding officers.
• Community resistance, equipment, and enough manpower can overpower and detain Michael.
• Michael is not killed; the described outcome sends him back to Smith’s Grove Sanitarium.

The wording establishes a second role after death. It does not publish the respawn timer, selection screen, which role appears first, or whether every death always produces re-entry.

What a Sheriff’s Deputy adds

The official article names the role but does not give a complete loadout or ability list. It is reasonable to describe the Deputy as part of the responding authority group because the source does so. It is not reasonable to invent a firearm, ammunition count, spawn location, or arrest interaction.

What Dr. Loomis adds

Dr. Loomis is described as an unrelenting returning role who can cooperate in stopping Michael. The source ties the wider group to detention. Exact Loomis abilities, equipment, dialogue, and selection conditions remain launch verification pending.

Detaining Michael is different from killing him

The official overview is explicit that Michael cannot be killed. Weapons and resistance can still create an advantage. The end-state described is overpowering and detaining him with the proper equipment and sufficient help.

That distinction affects strategy language. A guide can explain how the match escalates toward community resistance. It cannot promise a fixed “kill” sequence or a guaranteed arrest recipe before the release rules are visible.

Questions the launch build must answer

• Can every eliminated player return, or does the match limit re-entry?
• How are Deputy and Loomis assigned?
• Is there a delay or objective before re-entry?
• Can a returning role be defeated again?
• What exact conditions complete detention?
• How do police calls and resident rescues change the response?
