Factual guides end with a collapsed list of the sources that directly support that page. Each entry links to the original announcement and shows when it was checked.
Primary sources used for launch
- The official Halloween: The Game site and dated news archive.
- Official preorder, physical-edition, multiplayer, single-player, character, and map articles.
- PlayStation, Xbox, Epic Games Store, and Steam product listings.
- The official game social account where a direct platform-wide crossplay statement is published.
How a source becomes a claim
Source links identify the publisher and original article so you can compare a guide’s answer with the announcement. The date beside a source is the date it was checked, which can be later than its publication date.
When two official sources conflict, the more direct and more recent source normally wins. Store-specific claims stay store-specific unless another source establishes a universal rule.
Why sources are collapsed
Players need the answer first, but the evidence must remain one action away. Open “Sources & verification” at the end of a guide to see the linked announcements.
Update policy
The initial source set was checked on August 26, 2026. On September 6, the affected guides were updated for official map, progression, launch, and hotfix announcements. Each source retains its actual access date; this does not imply every older claim was rechecked. See the patch record and progression guide. On September 9, guides were updated for the confirmed digital release and September 8 patch 1.0.1, including Perk Deck limits, crossplay parties, stamina, NPCs, maps, and story fixes. These are official patch summaries, not independent in-game test results.
