The launch roster has a clear edition boundary. Ten playable Civilians are named for the Standard Edition, and two more—Richard and Alexis—are included with Digital Deluxe. Character biographies are public, but a full launch ability sheet is not.

Standard Edition launch roster

Civilian What is officially established
Jennifer Aarons A prepared bookstore employee saving for college and planning a future beyond Haddonfield
Tanya Harrison A social, darkly funny music-store employee connected to the town’s scene
Rachel Calahan A punk fan studying funeral services who is drawn to death and the occult
Eric Named as one of the six new Standard Edition Civilians; a full profile was not in the checked character feature
Marcus Navarro An independent rider with strong family connections in Haddonfield
Thomas Armitage A college football player portrayed as a confident, courageous leader
Bob Simms A returning character from the 1978 film, playable in multiplayer
Lynda van der Klok A returning character from the 1978 film, playable in multiplayer
Annie Brackett A returning character from the 1978 film, playable in multiplayer
Laurie Strode A returning character from the 1978 film, playable in multiplayer

The official legacy-character article says Bob, Lynda, Annie, and Laurie appear in both story sequences and multiplayer. It also names the voice performers, but voice credits do not reveal gameplay stats.

Digital Deluxe characters

Richard and Alexis are the two exclusive Civilians listed for Digital Deluxe. The official preorder FAQ says they are also included in a Digital Deluxe upgrade available at launch. No individual character price or separately published ability description was located.

The edition comparison explains the other Deluxe items and the difference between digital early access and physical cosmetic advance access.

What Civilians do in multiplayer

Civilian players locate Haddonfield residents, convince them that Michael is a threat, help them reach safety, search containers, gather everyday items and weapons, use telephones, contact police, and pursue one of several possible escape routes. Each playable Civilian is described as having unique stats, traits, and personality.

That confirms character differentiation, but it does not provide enough evidence to rank characters. Fixed stat numbers, trait cooldowns, perk decks, and launch balance are not published in the checked sources.

Laurie, Annie, Lynda, and Bob

These are reimagined game versions of characters from the original film rather than assets copied from a film encyclopedia. The official article says alternate costumes and cosmetic items can be unlocked by completing story-mode challenges. This page does not claim every film outfit, challenge condition, or unlock path.

Why there are no separate thin character pages

A page should solve a distinct question. At this stage, most characters have a short official biography and no independent ability details. Keeping the roster together avoids fourteen pages that repeat the same match loop and invent missing strategy.

After release, a character can earn a separate page only when there is enough verified information: official stats, traits, role differences, unlock conditions, and patch history. Even then, a popularity claim will not become a power ranking without measured evidence.

Read how the Civilian objective loop works or what happens after a Civilian dies.

How many Civilians are in the base edition?

Ten are officially named for the Standard Edition at launch.

Are Richard and Alexis preorder-only?

They are listed with Digital Deluxe, and the official FAQ says the launch Deluxe upgrade includes them. The Phantom Michael skin—not these characters—is explicitly called a digital preorder exclusive.
