Halloween: The Game Crossplay and Multiplayer

Last verified Applies to PS5 · Xbox Series X|S · Steam · Epic Games Store

Crossplay is officially confirmed across all available platforms. The announced platform set is PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and Epic Games Store, so the supported pairings cover console-to-console and PC-to-console play. The exact friend, party, and account-linking screens still need launch verification.

What 1v4 means here

One player controls Michael Myers. Four other players are Civilians trying to warn residents and create escape opportunities while Michael pursues residents and Special Targets. That is not simply a four-player survival team against a passive enemy: both sides interact with NPC residents, light, noise, items, authorities, and changing exits.

Read the multiplayer objective loop for the role-by-role sequence. The death and re-entry page explains why a Civilian’s first death may not end their involvement.

Console subscription requirements

The US PlayStation listing says PS Plus is required for online play, supports up to five online players, and labels online play optional because a one-player mode exists. Xbox says console online multiplayer requires an eligible Game Pass subscription. Subscription names and tiers can change, so verify the current store language before buying.

PC storefronts do not charge a console-style platform subscription. That does not imply that all multiplayer services or account systems are optional.

What is still unknown

Crossplay confirmation does not automatically establish cross-progression. It also does not reveal whether parties use a game account, platform friends, invite codes, or a combination. Local co-op and split-screen are not announced. Private-match and matchmaking options should be read from official launch menus or documentation before this site labels them available.

This is why the pre-launch troubleshooting page for crossplay invitations remains a private draft: inventing menu steps now would be less useful than saying “launch verification pending.”

Can five friends play together?

The stores support up to five online players and the format is 1v4. Whether a private group can directly assign every role is not documented in the checked sources.

Does crossplay transfer progress and purchases?

Not necessarily. Crossplay and cross-progression are separate features, and cross-progression has not been officially confirmed.

For a non-multiplayer alternative, see what single-player includes and what “offline” still does not prove.
